Couch to 5K is a running plan developed to help absolute beginners get into running.
The C25K beginners' running plan was developed in 1996 by novice runner, Josh Clark, who wanted to help his fifty-something mum get off the couch and start running too. The plan involves three runs per week, two of which will be coached runs with the group on Mondays and Wednesday. The third session you will need to do on your own. There is a day of rest in-between each run, with varied and progressive sessions over the duration of the programme. You may benefit by joining with family or friends to help each other out. All participants will have access to a closed facebook page so you can interact with the other new runners in the group. It’s a great way to encourage one another when you’re not feeling motivated to get out. All of our run leaders have completed the English Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness, have been vetted by the Disclosure and Barring Service and are covered by UKA Public Liability Insurance. Note: this is for adults only.
The sessions start on Monday 27th March 2017 at 18:45 at the Grantham Tennis Club and run every Monday and Wednesday excluding public holidays till the end of the program.
Please consult you doctor before embarking on this course.
There is a £10 charge for the programme which includes a technical t-shirt and BBQ for everyone who graduates.
