• Age: Almost a FV50
  • Occupation: Civil Servant
  • Years Running: About 6 years, first race was the Sleaford Half.
  • Favourite race: London Marathon as it’s my most current marathon PB and it is the only race that people ever ask me about, the one day of the year people think about normal people running.
  • Least Favourite Race: I can’t think of one in particular but normally it’s because I have run when I am injured or missed by goal. I prefer longer races to the short stuff though.
  • Why did you start running? Starting running on the treadmill at the gym and got bored and decided to venture outdoors, enjoyed it and have run ever since
  • Injuries received?: Achilles and calf tears but regular trip to see David McKee ensure I’m not injured too long
  • Furthest Distance ran?: 54 miles at The Crosses this year
  • Trainers worn: Brooks Ravena 5
  • Top tip from your experience: Training on cold dark winter nights does have its benefits when you can enjoy race day.
  • How many miles do you run per week? Depends on what race I am training for, in the winter when I am training for a marathon it’s a lot higher and has maxed out at 84 miles but generally about 40 miles a week in winter and in the summer when the training is geared up for 10k’s it’s about 30 miles a week
  • Favourite Running Kit? Adidas/Nike shorts/leggings and t-shirts from races ran
  • Other tips? Eat properly, it sounds boring but a decent diet is key to keeping fit, you can’t have too much fruit and veg!
