Market Deeping 10K

On a bright sunny late spring day, three members of GRC made their way to Market Deeping to compete in the 10k road race.

Starting and finishing at the Deeping Rugby club, the race course is into the local fenland.
First back for the club was the ever dependable Tony Johnson with a time of 47:33 in position 83.
Next in was Paul Jepson who was slightly underwhelmed with his time of 52:29, position 118 but cheered up seeing he came first in his age category; 65-69.

Joni Goodband finished the race just under the hour with a pleasing time of 59:47 and position 193 in her first race at Deeping. She is determined to improve her time at this distance.

The race winner was Lee Mullen with a time of 33:45 and the first lady finisher was Katie Vargeson timed at 41:23.

Just under three hundred runners crossed the finishing line in this popular South Kesteven event.
