Race the Estate

On a hot July morning, 4 club members of Grantham Running Club made their way to the Revesby Estate in the heart of Lincolnshire to Race the Estate, organised by Trident Sports Events.

The location provided stunning scenery, with runners setting off for various distances from the deer park and off into tree lined routes presenting a mix of cross country, tarmac and gravel tracks.

First to set off was Ellie Catterson in the half marathon. She finished in a time of 2:06 and achieved a personal best.  Ellie commented that apart from the lumpy fields it was a beautiful course and she’d do it again.

The other 3 GRC members took part in the 10k race,

Russell Maksymiw, in hirst race of 2024 wasn’t looking forward to racing in the heat but gave it a good go and was more than happy with his time of 47:28 which placed him first in his age category and 7th overall.

For Dan and Catherine Wallace who had a flight booked at 2am the next morning, the plan of attack was a more casual approach and enjoying the scenery.  First back was Dan in a time of 1:02:23 Catherine finished in a time of 1:13:35.
