Burghley Multi Sport Weekend

Four members of GRC took part in Burghley multi-sport weekender within the spectacular grounds of Burghley House in Stamford.

The run routes were not for PBs but to enable the participates to take in experiences in new exciting places, with access to areas normally closed to the public.

Taking on the 10K, Gillian Cardus and Vicki Geeson enjoyed the scenic route but with very little shade and warmer than anticipated temperatures, both were relieved to see the finish having endured a mixture of trail, road and estate tracks. Running together for the majority of the race, Gillian crossed the line in 1:22:55 and Vicki in 1:23:27.

Following on, Balint Beni took on the 5k run supporting some friends and finished in 23:54.

Also on offer was a sprint triathlon and Robin Atter loved the challenge of trying something new as he continues his adventures in triathlons. This was his first go taking part in open water swimming in a triathlon and he acquitted himself extremely well, finishing 27th overall and 8th in his age grade. Robin will definitely be returning for more.
