Two members of Grantham Running Club took part in the Bolsover Derbyshire 10k Road race which had been rescheduled from last December due to icy conditions at that time. A bright cold clear day with a slight breeze greeted the 495 runners starting out on the undulating course with a fast, slightly downhill finish.
First to the finish for GRC was Paul Jepson with a time of 50:19, followed by Richard Urquhart who crossed the finishing line in 52:23 seconds.
Race winner was Mathew Quibell of Bassetlaw Tri Club in 32:29. The ladies winner was Rebecca Miller of Derby AC in 38:08.
Both Paul and Richard reported that it was a well-organised race, with plenty of marshals and encouragement and both said they would be back. All competitors received a nice long-sleeved t-shirt as a memento of the race.
