June 2026 – Sylv Hull

June saw a very busy month for GRC with over 18 races represented across the month. Members covered distances spanning from 5k to ultra-marathons and everything in between. Events were as close as local GP races to as far away as Lake Windemere and even Finland! June also gave us the clubs very own Summer Solstice 10k in its new location of Ropsley, in which many new members took part, bringing home some excellent results!

Nominees

Katie Wallace has been nominated for her fantastic performance at the Woodhall Spa 10k race, where she achieved a massive PB, crossing the line in 47:34.

The next nominee was Rachel Hamilton, for her efforts in the same race at Woodhall Spa. Rachel was first lady back for GRC and finished in 43:34, with an impressive age grading of 71.53%.

Next up to be nominated were Joaquim Jeronimo (Flash) and David Poole for both their speedy 5k times. Flash took a podium place (P3) at the Gordon Whelbourn 5k Series Race 3, after finishing in a time of 16:44. Later in the month, David took on Race 2 of the Lincoln Wellington 5k Series and bagged a new PB of 17:12, finishing first for the club.

Paul Jepson competed in the entire Gordon Whelbourn Series and achieved sub 30 minutes in all the races, impressive given their consecutive nature.

Runner Up
June’s runner up is Caroline Davis, who truly is the ultra-running gift that keeps on giving! Caroline completed a casual 17 laps at Run Sandringham 24 hour event, giving her an incredible 85 miles covered.
