July 2026 – Jaimie Lord

July saw a very busy month for GRC with the club represented 120 times over 13 races. 62 of those occurrences came in the latest version of the new look Club 5k at Welby, which saw many first time racers from our Begin to Run programme. Members covered distances ranging from 5k’s to Ultra-Marathons and everything in between.

Nominees
Samuel Jepson has been nominated for his race at the Heckington 10 miler. Sam achieved a time of 01:02:42, earning himself an age grade of over 72% and an impressive new PB, beating his old time by over 3 minutes.

David Poole has been nominated due to a series of impressive times in July. Firstly, David ran a superb 35:44 at Whissendine in their 6 mile event. David followed this up a week later by taking first place at the GRC 5k in a time of 17:28. David improved this time further at the LWAC Race 4 by finishing the 5k in a time of 17:13.

David Amos-Reeves has been nominated for his great race at the Club 5k. David has been working hard at this distance and is edging closer to his aim of sub 20. David finished the club 5k in an impressive time of 20:30.

Caroline Davis has been nominated for running 3 events in 5 days, 2 of which she covered ultra distance. Caroline took part in the great Barrow Challenge on days 1 and 5 covering 62 miles in total. Sandwiched in the middle, Caroline raced the Heckington 10 in a time of 01:28:14.

Runner Up
The runner up for July is Niall Ó Faoláin. Niall is riding the crest of a wave and his times are improving at every distance. A 46:42 at Whissendine was followed up very impressively with a time of 22:47 at the GRC 5k. Niall finished the month with 01:18:40 at Heckington.

Winner
Your winner for the month of July is Jaimie Lord! Jaimie has been making impressive improvements for a while and his times just keep on delivering. Jaimie is now getting close to sub 23 for 5k, but it was his Heckington 10 time that caught attention. Jaimie took 4 minutes off his previous best, finishing in a time of 01:24:15.
