Grantham Running Club has raised £1,000 for Kesteven Rideability after holding a charity quiz and raffle in support of the Hough-on-the-Hill organisation.
The volunteer-run charity, a member of the Riding for the Disabled Association, provides riding and equine therapy activities for children and adults with disabilities.
The fundraiser followed a break-in at Kesteven Rideability’s yard in May, when the charity was left devastated by the theft of vital equipment.
Items stolen included saddles, bridles, specialised tack and a specially adapted carriage — equipment essential to providing safe and inclusive riding experiences for disabled riders across Lincolnshire.
Much of the equipment was specially adapted and is difficult and costly to replace.
The quiz proved a big success, with two teams from Kesteven Rideability also taking part.
Karen Thompson, from the charity, said: “We have seen the worst of humanity but also the best, with all the support people have shown.”
