Caythorpe Dash

While a majority of GRC were running at Equinox in Belvoir, Stefan Latter and Lizzy Soper opted for the 5k trail run in Caythorpe.

The sunny Sunday morning brought great running conditions in the local village of Caythorpe for their second event of the year. There was a 10k and 5k option and both Lizzy and Stefan raced in the 5k.

Stefan started out strong using the road section to gain an early advantage over Brian Mitchell of Lincoln Wellington AC but after the tough railway line section and fields, Brian managed to gain a lead over Stefan with a mile to go.

Stefan finished in 2nd place in a time of 21:06, 17 seconds behind Brian (20:49).

Lizzy Soper was 5th female to cross the line in a time of 28:17 and said what a great event The Caythorpe Dash was and how nice it was to support a local fixture.

Hannah Beckett ran in the Canicross 10k event and really enjoyed the multi-terrain route despite the challenging hills, finishing in a time of 1:01:11

All runners were welcomed back at Caythorpe playing fields with refreshments and the now famous Caythorpe Dash Cake feast.
