Doddington Hall Cross Country

The final Lincolnshire Cross Country League meeting took place on 8th March at the new venue of Doddington Hall, hosted by Lincoln and District. With the first of the races starting in October, it has been a long season to complete the set, but it was welcome having a new venue to race.

The course was pretty flat with a slight incline towards the end but took us around a field with a short wood section head out towards the pyramid and then over fields which normally house cows and back towards the finish. The women’s race was 6.7km and the men’s 6km.

Underfoot it was boggy in places, and the cows had done a good job of making the ground particularly uneven, along with rutted tracks and a ditch full of water. Everyone did agree that it was a good venue and enjoyed their runs. Participation from other Lincolnshire running clubs was low but GRC made a good mark on the standings with Rachel and Flash coming in first for their respective races.
