January 2025 – Sarah High

January is usually one the quieter months for racing and this was true once again as only 39 GRC members registered a race in the first month of 2025.

The opening round of the clubs GP series took place at the Oundle 10k, followed by the Folksworth 15 miler a couple of weeks later.

We also saw the conclusion of the Cross Country season with the Lincs series ending at Biscathorpe and the North Midlands league concluding at Bulwell Hall.

Runners up

Peter Bonner had a very busy January. Having competed in the Cross Country events at both Biscathorpe and Bulwell Hall, Peter also ran an impressive 01:42:41 at the Folksworth 15, earning him an age grade of over 73%.

Karl Clark competed in the Rasselbock Winter Series at Sherwood Pines, completin an amazing 9 laps within the 6 hour time period covering a total distance of nearly 33 miles.

Winner

Sarah High, the clubs chief organiser of all things Cross Country, also competed in both the final Cross Country events to round off the season. Then came the Folksworth 15 where Sarah achieved an age grade of over 77% for her time of 02:11:50. This result also secured Sarah a UK ranking of 2nd within her age group.

Congratulations to Sarah and both our runners up!
