River Ness 10K

On Sunday 27th September Robin Atter of Grantham Running club took part in The Baxters River Ness 10K.

The point‑to‑point course through Inverness is renowned for its scenery, and a finish‑line atmosphere that only the Scottish Highlands can produce.

Starting at Inverness Royal Academy , the route sweeps runners downhill toward the River Ness .

The course then hugs the riverbank, offering long straight sections, cool Highland air, and postcard‑worthy views as runners make their way toward the finish.

The final stretch leads into Bught Park, where the 10K shares its triumphant finish line with the iconic Baxters Loch Ness Marathon.

Crossing the line at Bught Park feels more like arriving at a festival than finishing a race. Runners are welcomed by live music, pipe bands, street food stalls, and family activities that keep the energy high long after the clock stops.

Continuing his packed September race schedule, Robin returned to his favourite country Scotland to finish in 44:12 marking his season’s best over the distance.
