Dambusters 10K

Tommy Napier represented GRC at a BORN2RUN event which specialises in organising running events in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Dambusters 10km race was held at the stunningly scenic Mountain of Mournes, Silent Valley, in Northern Ireland. The valley scenery includes a reservoir built in the early 1900s.

Conditions were hot but thankfully there was a refreshing cooling breeze.

The course was a challenging out and back with two steep hills up to the 1km and 5km points.

Tommy recorded a chip time of 51:59 and even managed a negative split which was a huge bonus. He was also presented with two blingy medals due to being his first B2R event.

The winner was Garry Morrow, North Down 33:55, and the first female Aimee Mullan, Galbally Runners 41:26.
