West Pinchbeck 10K

The West Pinchbeck 10K took place on a beautiful, windless Sunday morning with the autumn mist gently rising off the fens, making for wonderful running conditions.

Nine members of Grantham Running Club made their way to West Pinchbeck village between Bourne and Spalding along with two 250 other competitors hoping for a fast time on a fast flat course.

First back for GRC was Gavin Potter in 16th position with a time of 40:49.

Second in was Kev Wallace who was happy with his time of 47:04 as he recovers from his recent forway into ultra running.

Next in was Tony Johnson timed at 48:53, then Daniel Wallace who ran hard to the finish line in 52:31.

Paul Jepson was first in his age category with a time of 53:46 seconds.

Club newcomer Kate Dancer donned the green and black for the first time and crossed the line in 57:56, followed closely by Cathrine Wallace in 58:41.

Training for her first half marathon and using this for practise, Christine Sawyer came across the line in 1:10:57 and achieved second in her age category.

Yvonne Buckley was nursing a slight back injury and came across the line in 1:18:33.

All agreed it was well organised event and with a very nice medal.

Overall winner was Sam Evens, of Chester Tri Club at 34:21. First lady was Adel Gardner at 42:35.
