Stilton Stumble 10K

Set out at Cropwell Bishop four mature, crackers runners from GRC took on the Emmental challenge to see if they could Gouda distance on this cold but sunny Sunday morning. With temperatures very low runners had to be Brie brave enough to wear a running vest in their quest for a lump of Cropwell’s Stilton.

Caerphilly navigating the course and first home for GRC was Dan Pearce 41:50 (4th V40 men) who said after “the hills were mildly amusing but overall I’m extremely pleased with my time on an undulating course“.

Stef Latter was 2nd GRC home with a course PB of 42:35 (6th V45 men) also a seasons best at the distance. Edam well earned his prize cheese with this grate result.

Stuart Reader ran 48:18 (9th V50 men) and really enjoyed the race. Anna Harding, the only GRC lady clocked a time of 50:00. Though she did take a stumble en-route she didn’t cheddar tear and finished 4th FV45 .

Overall a perfect day for racing this event and runners were presented with a block of Stilton along with a medal.

Race winner was Archie Bradbury of Rushcliffe AC 33:32.
