Vitality 10K

On a wet cold September Sunday, travelling alone on a delayed early train from Peterborough to the Big Smoke, Vicki Geeson arrived with little time to spare to get the green vest on before heading to the start line.

The race started on the Mall, finishing just beside Buckingham Palace. It was all super organised with great support on most of the route and Vicki took in the sights of St Paul’s Cathedral , Big Ben, The Eye and Westminster Abbey.

Some of the course was very congested but that didn’t take away the enjoyment. The sun shone and the rain stayed away until the very end.

Vicki finished the race 1:16:57. While this was not the time she had hoped for, it is a work in progress.

The event was a very enjoyable race which Vicki would recommend with a decent medal and t-shirt (complete with a spelling error 😆) so one to keep!

The male race winner was Jack Rowe in 29:14 and the female winner was Eilish McColgan crossing the finish line in 31:36.
