December 2025 – Kate Marshall

December saw GRC represented 34 times to round up 2025. We had the continuation of the North Midlands Cross Country at Allestree Park, and the Lincs Cross Country at Louth. The final event of the Club Championship took place with the Keyworth Turkey Trot Half Marathon. The Nottingham Holme Run took place with optional distances of 5k, 10k, and a Half Marathon. Bolsover and Sherwood Pines were the venues for the final 10k races of the year.

Nominees
Alan Carley ran a seasons best time of 20:41 at the Holme 5k, earning an age grade of 76.87% and coming first in his age category.

Tracy Webb has been nominated for her great performance at the Holme 5k. Despite illness, Tracy finished in a time of 30:11 earning an age grade of 60.80%. Tracy is also a regular participant in club training runs.

Runner Up
Joaquim Jeronimo (Flash) is the runner up for December. Despite a year hampered by injury, Flash has slowly been building his way back. At Louth, Flash showed his strength over the cross country course by coming home in first place. Just one week later came the Keyworth Turkey Trot. Flash completed this Half Marathon in an eye catching 01:21:20. It’s safe to say “Flash is back”.

Winner
Your Member Of The Month for December is Kate Marshall. Kate is ever present with her run leading duties. This takes up lots of her time and often takes her away from her own training. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays you will find her at the tennis club ready to lead sessions. This on top of her Parkrun duties at the weekends.

At the Holme 5k, Kate had the aim of getting an age grade of 60% to earn a bronze certificate. Kate smashed this and set a new PB of 26:56, earning her first place in her age category in the process.

Well done to Kate, Flash and all the nominees!
