November saw GRC Represented 116 times. Numbers were higher than usual, boosted by cross country events at Wicksteed Park and Stroxton. November also saw 20 members continuing to fly the GRC flag overseas at the Benidorm 10k and Half Marathon. The Club Grand Prix Series continued with 11 members racing in the Derby 10, and an impressive 24 members participating in the Doncaster 10K.
Nominees
Nicola Ruston-Litchfield has been nominated for her Gainsborpugh Morton 10K time of 42:30, which gained her a 79.84% age grading and more importantly, a new personal best. Nicola followed up this just 2 weeks later with a time of 42:46 in the Benidorm 10K. Nicola was the 1st GRC to finish and also claimed 2nd place for the age overall. At the start of the month Nicola took part in the national cross country relays and was the fastest lady to finish from GRC.
Peter Bonner has been nominated for a very impressive time of 1:03:27 in the Derby 10 mile race. This earned Peter a 78.78% age grading, picked up valuable points in the GP series, and a 3 minute personal best over that distance. Peter followed up this result with a 38:10 at the Doncaster 10K, earning an age grade of 79.78%.
Runner Up
The Runner Up for November is Sarah High. Sarah had a busy month of races and 3 cross country events, as well as all of the organising and rallying the troops for the cross country. At the Derby 10 Sarah finished in 1:25:43, with a 78.20% age grading. This was bettered at the Doncaster 10K where Sarah finished in a time of 50:59, earning her 3rd in her age category, and a gold standard age grading of 80.29%.
Winner
The winner of Member Of The Month for November is David Poole. David rounded off his year of running at Doncaster for the 10K. His sheer dedication and consistent training paid off as David achieved a 2 minute personal best finishing in a time of 36:15.
