Equinox24 – Nathan’s Runners and Walkers

This year was a first for this team with an all-female lineup who are all seasoned veterans of the gruelling Equinox 24 course.

Thankfully in a another first for a while, the weather was grand and the team were raring to go.

First up was Holly Durham who enjoyed the atmosphere of the mass start at midday.  She shot round her first lap, smiling all the way.

Sarah High then took the baton and made mincemeat of the course. Sarah enjoyed it so much that she did an extra night lap before retiring for the evening.

Belinda Baker took the third leg and set out out to enjoy the course having done 10 miles before the event started (WHYYYYY?).  She completed her lap with ease, soaking up the sunshine along the way.

Penny Hodges was out next having had her training curtailed to no more than 5K due to injury.

Penny enjoyed the course and was very happy to complete her first lap and get back to the Prosecco with Holly.

Between them the ladies cut 45 mins off the first round of laps, all coming in under their projected times.

CJ started her laps later in the evening taking a run/walk approach due to injury. She enjoyed her night laps particularly with it being such a clear starry night.

The team covered 17 laps in total Holly 4, Sarah 5, Belinda 4, Penny 2 and CJ 2.

The team spirit was turned up to max all weekend and they finished early on Sunday and had a very entertaining team debrief over a drink in the race village. All were unanimous in having enjoyed the weekend hugely.
