From the running to the cheering, the beer mile to the 24-hour race, the night laps to the sunrise, Team Bohemian Lapsody embraced everything Equinox 24 had to offer. Countless laughs were shared, PBs were achieved and sleep was thoroughly neglected.
The team smashed out an impressive 22 laps, totalling 220km!
Kev Wallace had the honour of being first out for the team. This is his favourite running event and although he found it physically demanding, he completed four impressive laps, with his fastest coming in at 52:01. Kev loved being part of such a fun team, with his highlights being the overall atmosphere of the event and the epic crumble!
David Amos-Reeves also clocked up four laps (40km) and produced the fastest leg time of the weekend with a speedy 46:12. Improving on his times and number of laps from the previous year, David was really pleased with his effort and achievement. A highlight for him was the fantastic team and club encouragement.
Zoe Wragg completed three laps (30km) plus a bonus walking lap supporting Matt on his solo expedition. She loved the atmosphere around camp, cheering everyone on and soaking up the whole Equinox experience. She was particularly pleased to run her first lap in under an hour (58:58), allowing herself to take the following laps at a slightly more enjoyable pace.
Alison Clark was a late entrant but was thrilled with her decision to join in. She completed three laps (30km) and loved every minute, particularly seeing club members come together.
Alison completed her fastest lap in 1:09:15 and had the joy of watching the sunrise on her final lap, which she described as being “far more lovely than she had imagined it to be.”
Jon Whittaker threw himself into the whole weekend, enjoying the laughs, the atmosphere and meeting new club members. Unfortunately, an injury meant he had to settle for two laps (20km), with his fastest lap completed in 1:07:24. Jon is already determined to come back stronger next year and get more miles in.
Team Captain Nicci Whittaker credits Equinox24 as her favourite event of the year and was absolutely delighted with her incredible team. Although slightly biased, she states that they were the best at the event! Nicci completed three laps (30km), with her first lap coming in under the hour (59:10) and earning her a course PB. She particularly loved the midnight lap, describing it as an eerily beautiful moment, while the spectacularly pink sunrise during her third lap was the icing on the cake. She also provided excellent branded merch in the form of personalised camping mugs with the team logo.
Last out for the team, Sylv Hull loved every single second of the weekend. With the club’s famous banter and camaraderie in full force, much of her weekend was spent laughing with club mates. Sylv powered through three laps (30km), keeping every single lap under the hour and earning a well-deserved course PB of 54:01 — an achievement she’ll be back to better next year!
