Rauceby Ripper

On a cold and grey morning in February, 13 members of GRC laced up their shoes to take on the Rauceby Ripper, a 9-9.5 mile course that is run on mixed terrain.

The previous nights downpour certainly changed things up this year with the course including what can only be described as swamps, bogs, sand trails, fields and what felt like a mountain (it was a small incline in all honesty).

8 of the GRC contingent were returning to take on the Ripper once more. For the 5 newbies to the event their challenge was to see they could conquer the Ripper or face being stuck in the mud. Even the carpark was not safe from the grip of the Ripper.

First across the line for GRC was Russel Whittaker placing 6th overall in a time of 1:00:49. First lady back for GRC was Sophie Davis in a time of 1:16:10.

Several runners achieved course PBs despite the underfoot conditions. Everyone shared what a great event it was, how well organised and supported it is. Thanks to Sleaford Town Runners for another brilliant event.
