George Munday 10K

On Remembrance Sunday, two members of Grantham Running Club travelled to Wisbech in Cambridgeshire to take part in the George Munday 10k road race. The race is named after a former officer who served in the RAF during the Second World War.

After a moving short remembrance service, two minutes silence and a wreath laying, the race started off in ideal running conditions.

Paul Jepson finished with his second fastest 10k time of the year in 50:48 seconds, improving by 49 seconds on last year’s time.

Richard Urquhart produced a steady time of 56:06.

James Orrell from Huntingdonshire AC was the race winner with a time of 32:06. First lady was Marie Duhig timed 36:23.

Both Richard and Paul have strong affiliation to the armed forces.
All competitors were awarded a fantastic poppy enameled medal from Three Counties Running Club.
