Run Leicester Festival

On 26th October, Kevin Wallace of Grantham Running Club travelled to Leicester to run the Half Marathon as the sole club representative.

Aiming for a relaxed and enjoyable run having already scored a PB at the Great Eastern Run a few weeks before, Kev lined up for the flat course began at a very busy Victoria Park.

The race passed through the city centre for the first 2 miles before travelling across the Belgrave roundabout and along a very crowded and well supported Melton Road. The route also took in Watermead Park, Abbey Park and the Space Centre, before heading back into the city centre.

The last uphill mile took runners back into Victoria Park where the home straight was absolutely packed with cheering supporters. Kev was please to cross the the line comfortably in 1:43:48.

Kev absolutely loved the picturesque route through parks and along canals, as well the cheering crowds that packed out Victoria Park at the end. Definitely one to recommend.
